Vijay's Nanban, which graced theatres yesterday, received tremendous response from fans across the state. Though the film is a remake of Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots, Shankar has managed to adapt the script to suit Tamil audience. The film is expected to be one of the biggest hit in Vijay's career so far.

Nanban also has Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana, Sathyaraj and Sathyan in prominent roles. In fact it was a colourful release for the film yesterday. The reel was brought in big chariots to the theatres and Vijay's father S.A. Chandrasekhar handed over the reels to the theatre owners.
